The city of Shenandoah has a new fire chief

SHENANDOAH, Iowa - On Wednesday, the Shenandoah City Council approved the appointment of Justin Marshall, to be the Shenandoah Volunteer Fire Department's new chief. Shenandoah Mayor Richard Hunt said Marshall has been with the department for a long time.

“He’s been a good fireman...and as you know if you’re a volunteer fireman, you put in an awful lot of time for no compensation,” said Mayor Hunt.

Marshall takes over on January 1st, 2020. He replaces Chief Ron Weston, who's retiring at the end of 2019.
